Nestled at the base of the Hollywood Hills with sweeping views, the project showcases authentic and raw materials such as wood, concrete, crushed rock, earthen plaster, and stone coupled with ecosystem-inspired plantings.

The design invites guests in with its rustic modern vibe inspired by the Santa Monica Mountains and its foothills which extend across the northern boundary of the Los Angeles Basin. The use of local materials, nature-inspired colors, and an abundance of plants thoughtfully align with the hotel’s high design standards.

The abstract canyon landscape between the hotel towers emphasizes the interplay of nature and culture as a continuation of the Hollywood Hills. Sage bushes, jungle vegetation, and natural materials are sprinkled from the hills and across the courtyard and lobby to create an immersive environment that invites exploration.

The hues of soft sandy stone of the Pacific coast and rosy clays of the nearby arid canyons, teeming with wind-sculpted trees, grasses, and cacti, are the defining inspiration for the texture, mood, and color story.

One of the most striking features of the hotel is the use of reclaimed wood. Over 75 tons of fallen trees reclaimed from Los Angeles County were incorporated into the design, revealing ancient living edges, natural textures and growth patterns in on-site benches, planters and built-in furniture, reclaimed wood emphasizing the overall integration between nature and design .

Throughout the space, there is an interplay between distressed and finished wood, highlighting the inherent character of each. Materials are combined and contrasted to emphasize their differences, similarities and beauty.

Landscape experience full of sense of exploration

峡谷旁边的咖啡馆座位由堆叠的分体栅栏围成，栅栏消失在种植着本地草、龙舌兰和加州罂粟的小径中。所有室外植物和休息区均由从内部可见的小模块组成，让客人在整个访问过程中与大自然保持联系。

Café seating by the canyon is framed by stacked split fences that disappear into paths planted with native grasses, agaves and California poppies. All outdoor plantings and seating areas are comprised of vignettes that are visible from the interior so that the hotels common areas always provide a biophilic benefit, allowing guests to connect with nature throughout their visit.
