Six Senses 酒店由 Foster + Partners 设计，采用新材料减少对人工制冷的依赖，酒店种植了大量的沙漠本土植物，吸引了各种各样的鸟类前来，蜂鸟、鹎和黑尾鸲等等。利用沙漠景观和特色酒店设计吸引游客前来，希望在沙特阿拉伯的全球旅游地图上占据一席之地的同时，为该地区增添人文活力。

Designed by Foster + Partners, the Six Senses hotel uses new materials to reduce reliance on artificial refrigeration. The hotel is planted with a large number of native desert plants, attracting a variety of birds, including hummingbirds, bulbuls and black-tailed robins. By attracting visitors in terms of sustainability and desert landscapes, it hopes to add a new chapter to the region while placing its place on Saudi Arabia’s global tourism map.

Southern Dunes Red Sea Resort is located on the historic spice trade route, with the desert plains and Hijaz Mountains as its backdrop. The project pays homage to the Nabataean architectural heritage and Saudi Arabia’s spectacular desert landscape, and pursues environmental sustainability standards in an effort to protect and enhance the region’s very strong natural biodiversity for its people.

The resort also has 40 mountain villas, strategically placed throughout the grounds, with lightweight roof shapes inspired by rolling sand dunes and traditional tents. The pool area creates an oasis for guests, shielding them from the harsh sun and offering stunning views of the dunes. The hotels spa offers a range of traditional treatments and offers tranquil views of the nearby valley and distant mountains.

A unique flower-shaped canopy forms the entrance to the resort, providing shelter to a lush oasis. The canopy is filled with native plants, naturally cooling the space and enhancing the environmental quality. The heart of the hotel is the Oasis, a lush space with a petal-like rope canopy that shades itself from the sun, gushing fountains and a temperature thats a few degrees cooler than in direct sunlight.

Lightweight rope petals cover the reception area and many other facilities, surrounded by panoramic views of the mountains and desert. The luxurious hotel rooms face the breathtaking valley and offer stunning mountain views.

The resorts specialty restaurant is located at the highest point of the grounds, making it easy for guests to dine at sunset. The villa respects the topography of the site, with a flowing roof structure that blends with the colors of the sand and soil. The resort offers exclusive facilities such as a spa, pool area and specialty restaurants, all based on supporting local craftsmanship, cuisine and traditions.

From villas to rooms to restaurants, the hotels architecture is constructed using lightweight materials to avoid heat gain, while shading measures provide guests with protection from the hot desert sun.
